The Art of the Detour : See, think, and Manage Differently
Our programs
Through a detour into the arts, our tailor-made programs offer managers and business leaders a sensitive approach that strengthens their ability to lead in a complex, fast-paced and multicultural world.
From half a day to several months, in French, English, or Chinese, in person or online, and without prerequisites.
Our conferences
Between sensitive intelligence, innovation, and our relation with time, Christine Cayol brings Chinese and Western cultures into dialogue to explore a philosophical notion and its implications in our daily lives, whether professional or personal.
Starting from 1 hour, in French or in English, in person or online, and without prerequisites.
Who are we ?
The Synthesis firm
The detour through art and culture
International seminars and conferences open to all.
Founded by philosopher Christine Cayol, Synthesis takes a different look at management. Through culture, the arts and neurobiology, Synthesis offers managers and business leaders a sensitive approach that enhances their sensitive intelligence, their management of innovation, and their ability to lead in a complex, fast-paced, multicultural world.
Since the launch of the Synthesis Beijing office, our teams are also taking a fresh look at China, open and curious to engage in dialogue between our Western and Chinese cultures. Our seminars, conferences and Learning Expeditions enable managers to better interact and understand this key partner.
Our experience in supporting executive committees, management boards, future managers and operational teams on different continents has led us to identify four major areas for development:
Discernment
Initiative
Openness to others
Relation with time
Our approach
The detour approach is based on our ability to see, listen, and be enriched by the gaze of others.
This is an invitation to:
Open up, shift, be inspired by developing your sensitive intelligence
Develop a spirit and a dynamic based on confidence, audacity, and a sense of the possible
Draw on art and culture for markers, ideas, and energy to transmit within the team
Identify personal and collective points of vigilance, to enter into a process of daily progress
Christine Cayol
Founder and President of Synthesis
Knight of the French Legion of Honour
Philosopher and author, Christine Cayol began by teaching French at the Complutense University of Madrid, then back in France, she became a professor of Philosophy for final-year lycée students.
For her, "culture is what aims to make people more open, more sensitive, more human."
She then founded Synthesis, a firm specializing in supporting executives using an original method: a detour through art and culture. The challenge of this approach consists in sharpening one's gaze, one's listening, and all of our perceptions, in order to develop a sensitive, more creative and thereby more effective intelligence in action.
Christine Cayol works with the Management and Executive Committees of the largest groups and institutions. She leads both seminars and conferences for top managers in Europe, Africa, and Asia.
Christine Cayol is also the founder of Yishu 8, an artists' residence which each year allows young French and Chinese laureates to stay in Beijing and Paris respectively.
She is also co-founder of the Franco-Chinese Cultural Forum with former Prime minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin.

Art is connected to emotions and intimacy, and it can reach all audiences - this is why we chose Synthesis to help us raise awareness among our employees of the importance of compliance.
